Liposuction Recovery Time - How Long Should You Wait
The liposuction recovery time for small-volume liposuction practically takes a shorter time. Performed in out-patient facilities, the patient immediately could go back to work with only minor maintaining practices required. Large-mass liposuction, however, takes a greater extent of liposuction recovery time. It usually takes a minimum of one month before full recovery takes place. And should complications arise, additional time should be taken for added medical measures and for monitoring the health status of the patient. To add, patients should always remember that the length of time expected for full recovery is according to each individual's biology as a person's functions react differently to the new modifications in his body. The immune system of every person may also have distinct reactions to the liposuction procedure, which then determines the probability of complications or minor infections. Having medical records of previous diseases are useful when considered closely before hand. Again, the recovery stage should be taken with scrutiny because it's when complications from the surgery could arise. This explains the long duration allotted for close-observation important for successful recovery. More often than not, the post-procedure phase follows the patient's liposuction recovery time in this order: Right after the operation, elastic binds are applied as support to keep the body's new form in proper place and these must be held in a period two weeks. In the first week of recovery time though, the patient is advised to re-visit his surgeon to check for lesion infections as well as the presence of bruises and blood clots that may eventuate due to some ways in the surgery. This is highly advisable since patients are often cynical during these first few days. After the second week, the patient is needed to return to the clinic to enable for the elimination of his bandages, although, the patient may have to wait a few more days for his sutures to be removed. The rest of the coming weeks during the one-month recovery span is spent under close observation until the complete contoured form becomes visible. |
